    London Reunion

Amongst the midst of all the New Year posts, this post will probably go astray but hey, I guess this will be a breath of fresh air.

Earlier on in the year, on the first week of September to be precise, I took the opportunity to attend a five day English Literature residential course at Villier's Park (an educational trust near Cambridge). As nerdy as the course sounds, I made some really good friends there so this Monday we decided to reunite in London.

The day began with Eleanor and I aimlessly wandering around Covent Garden, peaking into shops and complaining about how heavy our bags were for too long, as we waited for Liv to arrive.

On meeting Liv we headed on over to the Southbank where Christmas markets are in abundance. Gaz actually bought me a gorgeous bracelet from one of the stalls only a few weeks back when we were visiting London but I lost it the following week *cries*.

By this time it was already edging towards five o'clock as we met quite late due to travel arrangements. But, this meant the sun was setting over the city painting the sky with the most glorious pale pink and orange colours. Even these photos don't do it justice.

As avid English Literature students, a browse around the Southbank Book Market could not go amiss (I definitely recommend it to any of you book lovers around here!)

Before "hitting the town" for the night we thought it would be a good idea to have a nice early evening meal as we'd been walking all day and food and a sit down was all that was on our minds. We headed to a Pizza Express restaurant along the Southbank. Failing to live up to my blogger expectations, I somehow managed to forget to take photos of the restaurant/our meals (oops... I think my brain was solely focused on the food!)

As for the meal, I am one of those boring people who typically orders the same thing at chain restaurants just because I know it's good. For this reason, I ordered the Pollo ad Astra pizza (chicken on pizza is always my go-to) which was, as always, delicious. This pizza is comprised of chicken, sweet peppadew peppers, cajun spices, garlic oil and red onions - yum! What I love most about it is how thin it is. It is a Romana pizza which is thinner, crisper and bigger than usual. Typically when I go to eat pizza it will make me feel sick and bloated after eating just half the pizza as they are so filling. But, I ate entire pizza quickly and despite being completely full, I didn't feel bloated at all. I love it!

As for our night out... well, we'd better keep that one to ourselves. We pre-lashed ourselves to death at my cousin's apartment then hit local bars (due to problems with the District line) and met loads of new people. I'd share with you our 'crappy' phone photos from the evening as well but I don't think anyone needs to see me in such a state.

P.s. Happy New Year you delightful bunch of people - have a crackin' one (and good luck with your hangovers tomorrow... I'm still recovering from this one).
