    To... Perfect Strangers Project

For the second year running, ohcomely magazine have run an exciting "swap box" project which I was (of course) immediately enchanted by. Last year, in 2013, the scheme was entitled the "November Care Package" with this year instead "The Perfect Strangers Project".

The idea is simple: you are paired with a 'perfect stranger' located anywhere around the world, from Morocco to Brazil to Hong Kong. You now have two weeks to create a package full of wintry goodies to send to your partner! Nothing can beat the enjoyment of not only receiving a surprise package in the mail (as opposed to mundane bills) but the joy of creating, giving and making someone's day! And perhaps even making a lifelong friend?

In this blog post today, I would like to share with you what I have shared with my Perfect Stranger, hence the "To..." in the title. I shall be making a follow-up post when I receive my package so keep your eyes peeled for a "From..." in the near future. The perfect stranger I received was a twenty five year old girl named Sophie who lives in London.

*fingers crossed my swap partner does not accidentally stumble across this post* I'd hate to ruin the surprise for her!

Above you can see a general overview of the contents of my box (it also contained a face mask which I added later!)

    The items which I included:

    • A notepad, in which I wrote some of my favourite quotes by e.e. cummings (my favourite poet)
    • Some socks
    • A mug warmer
    • Shake Spearmints (puns are fun!)
    • A candle and some tealights to bring light to those dark wintry nights
    • A gingerbread man Christmas tree decoration
    • "A modern day message in a bottle" - inside is my rainymood.com playlist (please comment if you'd like me to make a separate post with said playlist!)
    • A facemask
    • Some local homemade blackcurrant jam
    • A Christmas card/a postcard/badge

You can explore the project further by visiting ohcomely's blog and searching #PerfectStrangers on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook! Unfortunately this year's project is closed now but keep your eyes peeled for more in the future (the next installment is in May). I definitely recommend it if you have the money, time and energy. It is very fulfilling and rewarding.
