• Hello and welcome to my official iPhone tour, pull up a seat why don't you and brace yourself for the longest post ever. If you are anywhere as near as nosy as I am then this might be just the post for you! As trivial as it sounds I love seeing what apps others use and nothing makes my day like finding a new good'un... enjoy!

I currently own the iPhone 6. I got it within the first couple of weeks of release which is mental and not like me at all... I owned the 4S for a few years and in the previous 6 months leading up to the 6's release, it was on its last steps. It finally and unfortunately gave out conveniently just as the 6 was released and I had saved up money from my part time job so I was like why not!? After much investigation I concluded that it was only about £50 more to buy the 6 as opposed to one of the 5's and this investment has been fabulous. Anyway, enough of the history lesson, let's get into the nitty-gritty stuff.

  • Recently, Gaz and I took a lil trip to Dublin to see our favourites The almighty Libertines perform at the 3Arena (article can be found here!) Obviously travel is paired with a need for accommodation and with a small budget on our hands we finally settled with the lovely gem that is Isaacs Hostel. As we first stepped foot into the hostel, I heard the beautiful sound of Stereophonics blaring from their speakers and in that moment I thought to myself 'We've chosen the right place'.

Set in a quirky converted 19th Century wine store and tucked down a quaint, yet rundown, alleyway, the hostel epitomises quintessential Ireland at its finest. However, this old-fashioned nature is mixed with many modern and clean-cut elements especially found in their toilet and shower rooms; who'd have thought it? The hostel also boasts a very central Dublin location which could not be more perfect or accessible. We reached Isaacs from Dublin Airport by hopping on the Airlink 747 bus which was a simple (and cheap) 30 minute drive.

  • It is no secret that Europe is filled with all kinds of grungy authentic goodness, But Berlin undoubtedly takes the crown for the 'hipster' capital. The city fuses history, art, culture and a vibrant nightlife into a confusing yet strangely appealing blend where there is something to be found for everyone. It is difficult not to fall victim to the attraction of this alluring city.
If you are looking for something off the beaten track, far away from the shiny western tourist attractions, follow this guide - it's time to travel like a local.

  • A big chunk of my life which I don't really share with you much on Faraway Lucy is my academia. I am a massive book nerd, a literature student and all-round lover of all things poetic. At this stage in my blogging process, I am all for experimentation; producing context that I love and finding out what floats your boat as well, so let's try something new...

This is an all classic book tour with a twist. Unfortunately I'll have to let your hopes down here and reveal that it's not that exciting or exhilarating a twist but hey ho. This is a colour orientated book tour with a focus on the beauty of book covers - I am all for those aesthetics. Clearly the literature inside is the all-important good stuff but honestly, who isn't guilty of judging a book by its cover? (By book, I mean literally a book... I'm not promoting prejudice, people!)

  • Here's a new Outfit of the Day post (I haven't made one for a whole six months - SAY WHAAAT?) for you fine ass people. This mini dress is my new all-time favourite, unsurprisingly sourced from the gorgeous company that is Free People. It is a pink, deep v-necked number and is bursting with floral designs and patterns. Most importantly it is super fun and flexible to run and dance in; unfortunately, I forgot to get a shot twirling in the dress but you will have to trust my verdict on its great flowing power. As with most of the dresses I own, it is quite see through - God knows what was going through the minds' of the people who made it but I guess it makes it appear a little more light and magical than your usual dress. For this reason, wearing a pair of shorts (I suggest hot pants) underneath is vital. Also, typically for Outfit Of The Day articles, I remember to take off my festival wristbands to make the images look more natural and the outfits more accessible/dressed up, however I forgot to do so this time. But I guess the reality of the situation is that I never, ever take my wristbands off so really they should be a part of all of them. They work quite well in this shoot actually because there is a lot of colour! The shooting location itself was stunning and a little bit too magical especially as the sun was going down, however it certainly triggered our hay fever.

  • Disclaimer: Quite a soppy, romantic post follows. You have officially been warned.

This story begins last Christmas when my Nan bought me a tiny little diary as a present(God knows why... I expect she got it for free with a newspaper). But regardless, I was stuck for ideas with what to actually use the diary for. With our modern day technology, my iPhone Calender treats me quite nicely so I would have never actually used it to write down dates as is intended. So I instead decided to treat it as a future gift for my other half and best friend, Gaz, by jotting down short funny descriptions, anecdotes and doodles every day of 2014. Thus by the end of the year he would be able to look back at everything we got up to in the first whole year of our relationship.
  • Amongst the midst of all the New Year posts, this post will probably go astray but hey, I guess this will be a breath of fresh air.

Earlier on in the year, on the first week of September to be precise, I took the opportunity to attend a five day English Literature residential course at Villier's Park (an educational trust near Cambridge). As nerdy as the course sounds, I made some really good friends there so this Monday we decided to reunite in London.

The day began with Eleanor and I aimlessly wandering around Covent Garden, peaking into shops and complaining about how heavy our bags were for too long, as we waited for Liv to arrive.

  • I apologise for how late this gift guide is (in relation to Christmas) but if, like me, you are yet to purchase any presents then perhaps this may help you - or you may even see something you like and wish to treat yourself with! It is undeniable that I am slightly biased when creating this gift guide as these are all items which I would LOVE to receive (I think this is secretly a wish list for me as opposed to anything else). I have divided them into subcategories with expensive and inexpensive gifts split to accommodate for your price range. Hope this helps!

  • About a year and a half ago I took the plunge and finally bought a film camera (after longing for one for years but not being able to fully justify the purchase). Who needs film photography in our 21st Century, Instagram ridden environment anyway? Is it not a little obsolete? I could not disagree more.

Film photography just feels so much more natural, nostalgic and so bewilderingly satisfying than what you would ordinarily experience whilst taking a photo. You will not understand how I class it as "satisfying" unless you have had film developed yourself. I personally use a large roll and take photos over a long period of time, this way by the time you come to developing the film, you will probably have forgotten most of what you photographed, making for a very exciting unveiling experience.
